Live Show Will Air From 3-7 P.M. ET Across NBC Sports Radio Affiliates and the NBC Sports Radio App

STAMFORD, Conn. – January 2, 2019 – NBC Sports Radio, in conjunction with Westwood One, is launching “The Daily Line,” a new, weekday afternoon drive show, which will focus on the increasingly popular topic of sports betting while also featuring topical and entertaining sports talk. Beginning January 2, the program will air nationwide on NBC Sports Radio, the NBC Sports Radio app, and other digital platforms from 3-7 p.m. ET, with hosts Michael Jenkins of NBC Sports Washington, and Tim Murray, a 10-year sports radio veteran based in the Washington, D.C. area.

“The Daily Line,” which will debut on NBC Sports Radio from NBC Sports Washington’s studios will also feature special guests and additional unique content specific to casual and avid sports fans, fantasy players, and sports bettors. Video highlights of the show will be available on NBC Sports digital platforms and, beginning in the latter half of 2019, “The Daily Line” will be simulcast on television across multiple NBC Sports Regional Networks to be announced. The radio program will be exclusively distributed and represented by Westwood One, the largest audio network in the U.S., as part of the NBC Sports audio products offered to stations across the nation.

“We are excited to offer NBC Sports Radio listeners a program that looks at sports through the lens of the bettor, which resonates now more than ever in the daily discussion of sports in America,” said Rob Simmelkjaer, Senior Vice President, NBC Sports Ventures. “We like our odds with Michael and Tim, who will entertain and inform each weekday afternoon.”

Michael Jenkins joined NBC Sports Washington in 2004, and has delivered the region’s sports news with a charismatic style that has made him one of the area’s most popular sportscasters. A nine-time Emmy winner, he most recently served as co-host of the network’s weeknight talk and opinion show D.C. Sports Live, which debuted in June 2018. Previously, Jenkins was an anchor and reporter for the network’s news and entertainment shows, covering all Washington, D.C., and Baltimore-area sports.

Tim Murray has an extensive resume in sports radio, serving as host of the nationally-syndicated morning show of SB Nation Radio since August 2013, studio host on the Navy Football Radio Network for the past three seasons, and co-host of NBC Sports Washington’s recently launched podcast covering the Washington Nationals, The Racing Presidents. In addition, he spent more than seven years with ESPN Radio in Washington, D.C., most recently as co-host of the station’s weeknight show, after three years as lead reporter/update anchor. Murray also contributed to Westwood One’s coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
