WHAT: Westwood One and Cumulus Media are the official national radio partners for “The 51st Annual CMA Awards” and will offer to radio stations across the country five full hours of exciting programming and exclusive content celebrating Country Music’s best music and brightest stars. The special coverage of the 2017 CMA Awards will be offered as five hours of programming to all time zones with complete coverage of the 2017 CMA Awards, beginning at 7:00pm EST.
“The 51st Annual CMA Awards” airs live Wednesday, November 8, 2017, on ABC-TV from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will preside over the evening, returning as hosts for the 10th consecutive year.
Cumulus Media/Westwood One Tune-In Highlights include:
- “Countdown to the 2017 CMA Awards”: NASH Nights Live co-host Elaina Smith will anchor an exclusive “Countdown to the 2017 CMA Awards” special, broadcasting live from the CMAs Red Carpet, with NASH Nights Live co-host Shawn Parr reporting in-studio on “Country Music’s Biggest Night”. “Countdown to the 2017 CMA Awards” will build on the CMA’s excitement beginning at 7:00pm Eastern.
- Live Radio Simulcast of ABC-TV’s Broadcast of “The 51st Annual CMA Awards”: The Cumulus Media/Westwood One simulcast will begin at 8:00pm Eastern and Pacific Time Zones and at 7:00pm Central and Mountain Time Zones.
- “The 2017 CMA Awards Wrap Up Show”: After the ABC-TV telecast, Cumulus Media/Westwood One will present a special edition of NASH Nights Live, hosted by Shawn Parr and Elaina Smith. Parr and Smith will provide the complete rundown of all the winners of the 2017 CMA Awards and their music. NASH Nights Live’s “The 2017 CMA Awards Wrap Up Show” will also re-air highlights from the earlier telecast’s best performances, and interviews with Country Music listeners’ favorite stars.
All Cumulus Country NASH Nights Live affiliates and NASH Icon stations will air the special coverage of the 2017 CMA Awards.
Presenters for “The 51st Annual CMA Awards,” include: New Artist of the Year nominees Lauren Alaina, Luke Combs and Brett Young; NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson; model and Kode With Klossy founder Karlie Kloss, star of Freeform’s “Movie Night with Karlie Kloss”; country artist Dustin Lynch; actress Lea Michele of ABC’s “The Mayor”; “The Path” actress Michelle Monaghan; actor, director and author Tyler Perry; stars of ABC’s “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World”, Jason Ritter and JoAnna Garcia Swisher; “Pitch Perfect 3” actresses Ruby Rose and Brittany Snow; and three-time CMA Awards winner and 20-time previous nominee Trisha Yearwood. Additionally, first-time nominees LOCASH will vie for Vocal Duo of the Year and host the pre-telecast portion of the night.
Performers previously announced for the Nov. 8 CMA Awards include: collaborations by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Kelsea Ballerini & Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley & Rascal Flatts, Maren Morris & Niall Horan, Brad Paisley & Kane Brown, as well as performers Garth Brooks, Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Jon Pardi, P!NK, Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Urban will be joined by Eric Church, Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker for an unprecedented opening collaboration.
