NEW YORK, NY – October 11, 2016 – Westwood One has announced a new partnership with renowned talk show host and former mayor of Cincinnati, Jerry Springer, whose Tales, Tunes & Tomfoolery weekly podcast has joined Westwood One’s Podcast & On-Demand platform via audioBoom. Westwood One will provide exclusive ad sales representation for the show, boost efforts to increase listenership, and drive massive awareness. The Jerry Springer Podcast: Tales, Tunes & Tomfoolery, is streamed live every Tuesday night and emanates from Ludlow, Kentucky’s Folk School Coffee Parlor. It’s an easygoing and intimate conversation between three friends — Springer, Jene Galvin, and Megan Hils – who provide a mix of comedy, liberal political talk, and contemporary roots music. Tales, Tunes & Tomfoolery, which simultaneously streams live on jerryspringer.com and Facebook Live, is also posted on YouTube. Each episode ends with Springer singing “Goodnight, Irene.”
Jerry Springer has become a cultural and civic icon. In addition to being one of the world’s most well-known talk show hosts, Springer has been the mayor of Cincinnati, a political pundit, lawyer, Emmy award-winning newscaster, game show host, Country recording artist, international emcee, and TV personality. Springer has been in movies, on Broadway, and on the air as a progressive talk radio broadcaster. He even won America’s hearts with his ballroom dancing on season 3 of ABC-TV’s Dancing with the Stars.

Jerry Springer was born in London and raised in New York. He received a BA in political science from Tulane University and a law degree from Northwestern University. He worked for Bobby Kennedy in his run for the Presidency, and then served 10 years on Cincinnati’s City Council and as its Mayor. He was then an Emmy-winning main nightly news anchor on the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati for 10 years before creating his current talk show, The Jerry Springer Show, now in its 26th year of original broadcast.
Jene Galvin grew up in Cincinnati and got schooled twice by the Jesuits before a long career of inventing and implementing urban magnet high schools. Along the way he toiled in politics, which started his 45-year friendship with Jerry Springer. A few years back he worked on Jerry’s Air America radio show as a sidekick and writer. Today he’s an adjunct education professor at Xavier University and writes articles for Cincinnati Magazine. He is executive producer of the Jerry Springer Podcast.
Megan Hils is a Northern Kentucky native. She attended NKU and received a Degree in Theatre. Realizing almost immediately upon graduation that she had most likely made an epic life mistake, she started selling wine. Around that time, she met Jene Galvin and threw away her lucrative wine sales business to work with the one and only Jerry Springer on his Air America talk show. After the show ended, she went to work in the logistics industry and got a Master’s degree in Executive Human Resources and People Development from Xavier. She currently works in the Cincinnati area as a human resources manager for a major real estate developer.
