NEW YORK, NY, April 21, 2015 – NBC Sports Radio has announced the debut of a new program to its Sunday evening lineup. The Leisuremen: Pabst & Perloff, kicks off this Sunday, April 24, 2016, and features popular Dan Patrick Show personalities/producers Paul Pabst and Andrew Perloff, who will bring their entertaining brand of humor, fun, and passion to the airwaves on Sundays from 6:00 – 9:00 pm ET. The show will touch on a wide range of topics that go wildly beyond sports – from food, drink, cars, travel, and money to how to properly wear plaid pants.
Paul Pabst has worked on The Dan Patrick Show for 12 years and has had stints at CBS Sports, CBS Radio News, ESPN, and SiriusXM. He has also written for Sports Illustrated and ESPN Magazine. In addition, Pabst teaches a sports media class at Sacred Heart University.
Andrew Perloff has been with The Dan Patrick Show since 2007. Prior to that he worked as a writer, editor, and producer for Sports Illustrated, FOXSports.com, NFL, MLB.com, and the YES Network. He’s covered and talked about nearly every major sporting event, and claims his worst prediction, in 2001, was that “The Patriots were a bit of a fluke. Don’t expect to see them back in the big game.”
“Andrew and I are connoisseurs of sports. Those who cannot do, watch. We watch way, way too much sports on TV and in person. It’s almost unhealthy, but that works perfectly for this show,” says Pabst. “We want to talk to our listeners about all aspects of sports — the games, the characters, the serious and the silly. As an avid napper, I care about Ben Roethlisberger’s nap schedule as much as I do about his passing numbers.”
Perloff adds, “Humor and fun are a big part of how we approach sports. Paul and I are friends and when it comes to debating sports, it starts from the second we get to work and doesn’t end until we go to bed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten a text from him at 11:35 pm saying ‘You watching this press conference? What’s with that guy’s sweater?’”
