Something to Think About with Mike Rogers Passes the 150 Station Mark

Former Congressman Engages More Listeners Nationwide Through the Country’s Largest Talk Platform

NEW YORK, NY – August 11, 2015 Westwood One announced today that Something to Think About with Mike Rogers, its weekday “slice of Americana” featuring former Michigan Congressman Mike Rogers, has hit a major radio milestone by affiliating 156 stations just seven months after its debut. The show, which airs in eight of the top 10 markets, boasts a robust station lineup which includes WABC/New York, WLS/Chicago, WIOD/Miami, KDKA, Pittsburgh, KSFO/San Francisco, and many more.

“Something to Think About,” which airs three times daily on stations nationwide, plays an important role helping Americans understand critical issues that impact their lives.  Rogers, the former FBI agent and outgoing Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, shares his take on the news listeners want to hear.

Rogers said, "I am thrilled to hit this important milestone. To surpass 150 radio stations this fast is really exciting and the feedback from listeners is inspiring!  It truly is an honor to be welcomed in to the cars, homes, and businesses of so many people across the country.  Sometimes it’s the simplest message that has the greatest impact. Together we are giving America something to think about."

“We have been searching for a strong voice that provides a common sense and thought-provoking take on relatable topics that concern all Americans,” said Dennis Green, Westwood One’s SVP Affiliate Sales.  “Mike Rogers brings that home in his commentary, which gives listeners a chance to pause and reflect on the ideals that are important to us all and are without any political bias.”

Chairman Rogers spent more than a decade at the intersection of the topics and events that shape Americans’ lives, where he's been privy to perspectives available only to a select few in senior levels of government and national security.
He travelled across the world meeting American spies, foreign intelligence leaders, Special Forces personnel and a host of world leaders. As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rogers played a key role shaping critical national security policies. Chairman Rogers was involved in the country's most urgent matters including the operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the debate surrounding NSA-leaker Edward Snowden, the search for Malaysia Air 370 and Russia's annexation of Crimea. Rogers is a key player developing the policy to deal with Cyber espionage and the growing cyber threat to all Americans. From the rise of the terrorist organization ISIL to growing Russian and Chinese aggression, to the Ebola crisis and other health security issues, Rogers continues to be among the select few in the middle of the debate. Chairman Rogers is a seasoned and skilled communicator who for the last two years appeared on more Sunday public affairs shows than any other elected official in the nation.

From his perch, Chairman Rogers has worked with two Presidents, Intelligence Community leaders and Congressional Leadership to develop the tools necessary to help America’s security professionals catch terrorists and spies.
