Listeners Can Tap in to Exclusive Audio, Celebrity Interviews, Performances, and Special Programming
LAS VEGAS, May 14, 2015 — Pop singer/songwriters Rozzi Crane and Tori Kelly will provide exclusive performances during Red Carpet Radio’s Backstage at the Billboard Music Awards. The special performances are part of a showcase of exclusive brand activations and backstage audio and video coverage for two days leading up to the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Red Carpet Radio’s Backstage at the Billboard Music Awards will run on Friday, May 15, 2015 and Saturday, May 16, 2015 from MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The 2015 Billboard Music Awards will be beamed live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The show will showcase this year’s hottest and biggest music stars.
Red Carpet Radio’s Backstage at the Billboard Music Awards Radio Row is two days of live broadcasts with 25 radio stations from across the country representing multiple formats, hosts, presenters and performers. National shows and partners The Adam Bomb Show, Zach Sang & The Gang, and Music Choice will also be broadcasting from Red Carpet Radio Row. In addition, Westwood One will feature original programming that will run on 120 radio stations across multiple formats in markets as diverse New York, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Hartford, Las Vegas, and Memphis.
On Friday May 15, there will be an exclusive Red Carpet Radio backstage performance featuring singer/songwriter Rozzi Crane. Crane, the first artist signed to Adam Levine's 222 Records, artfully skips between Pop, R&B, Alternative, and Hip Hop, crafting a sassy, sexy, and soulful sound of her own. In 2012, she broke on the national level scene with a feature on the #1 ranked 'The Hunger Games' soundtrack, singing on the Maroon 5/T-Bone Burnett song "Come Away To The Water." In winter of 2013, Crane hit the road as a featured performer on Maroon 5's Overexposed World Tour; in the summer of 2013 she joined Maroon 5 again, but this time with her own band opening for them and Kelly Clarkson on the Honda Civic Tour. She has also toured with Gavin DeGraw and Parachute.
On Saturday, May 16, singer Tori Kelly performs on the Red Carpet Radio stage. Kelly first rose to attention when her cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You,” went viral, racking up over 22 million views. To date, her YouTube channel boasts over one million YouTube Subscribers with over 89 million views. Kelly co-wrote “Nobody Love” off her current debut alongside Rickard Goransson and Max Martin. She also co-wrote with such vets as Savan Kotecha, Toby Gad, Claude Kelly, Chuck Harmony, Wolf Cousins, and Ed Sheeran. Born and raised in Temecula, California, Kelly is the daughter of musicians. Over the past year and a half, Kelly has sold out shows in several major cities (including The Troubadour and The Roxy in Los Angeles, the Bowery Ballroom and Gramercy Theatre in New York City, and Bush Hall in London), headlined a nine-city sold-out U.S. tour, and supported Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith on tour.
On Sunday, May 17, Westwood One and Cumulus Media present a five-hour Red Carpet Radio special that salutes and embraces the music of the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, starting at 7 pm ET/6 pm CT. The special will air on Westwood One affiliates in the formats of Top 40/Rhythmic, Urban and Hot AC/AC radio stations–including all Cumulus Media O & O stations of those formats–with reports from the red carpet, backstage in the press room, and from the After Show.
The Red Carpet Broadcast will begin at 7 pm ET. Anchors Ty Bentli and Kerri Kasem will be joined by NASH Correspondent from America’s Morning Show Erika Grace Powell in the Fan Zone. The broadcast will feature interviews, music, and features.
The Billboard Music Awards radio show will begin at 8 pm ET. This three-hour broadcast includes music from current nominees and the nights’ winners, along with featured artists performances, interviews, and acceptance speeches. The hosts will also go backstage and visit with top artists. Westwood One’s Red Carpet anchors include Urban/Urban AC hosts Toni Terrell & Kenny Smoov, HOT AC/AC hosts Adam Bomb & Jenn Ryan, and TOP 40/Rhythmic hosts Zach Sang & The Gang.
