Tonight, from 7:00 pm-12 Midnight ET, NBC Sports Radio will present an NFL Draft Night Special during the presentations from the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Chicago. The five-hour coverage of this event, featuring the 2015 NFL prospects, will be hosted by Super Bowl Champion and former Michigan collegiate standout Amani Toomer and his Going Deep with Amani and co-host and college football specialist Dan Schwartzman. Amani and Dan will be joined by Chris Landry of the sports website www.landryfootball.com. Chris Landry has spent a lifetime in football, having served as Coach, Scout and Administrator at the College Football and NFL levels. NBC Sports Radio’s Draft Night 2015 Special will be loaded with exclusive content, interviews, and insights.
NBC Sports Radio will also be presenting play-by-play coverage from the first race of The Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing—the 141st Kentucky Derby, live from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, this Saturday, May 2. Exclusive “Run for the Roses” audio coverage is being provided in conjunction with NBC Sports and Horse Racing Radio Network and will be carried on 161 radio stations around the country and streamed live on NBCSportsRadio.com, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports Radio mobile app, and WestwoodOneSports.com.
The network kicks off the first jewel in the Triple Crown with a pre-race show hosted by Anita Marks from 2:00-5:00 pm ET. Marks will be joined by special guests including super horse trainer and three-time Kentucky Derby winner Bob Baffert, racing analyst Hank Goldberg, and racing analyst and former Major League Baseball catcher Paul Lo Duca.
From 5:00-7:00 pm ET, in tandem with Horse Racing Radio Network, there will be a live broadcast featuring pre-race ceremonies, interviews, predictions, celebrity red carpet comments, the play-by-play call of the race, post-race interviews, and more. HRRN’s Mike Penna anchors the coverage, with Larry Collmus handling the play-by-play. They will be joined by analysts Jude Feld and Kurt Becker, former jockeys Sean Clancy and Jeff Bloom, and reigning Miss Connecticut Acacia Courtney.
Tomorrow, Friday, May 1, Donovan McNabb and Mark Malone, co-hosts of Under Center with McNabb & Malone (3:00-7:00 pm ET) will broadcast their show from the fight site of the highly anticipated Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao boxing match from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Then, on Saturday night following the Derby, NBC Sports Radio’s Jason Page, host of Up Late with Jason Page, will offer pre-fight coverage from 7:00-10:00 pm ET featuring celebrity guests including rapper 50 Cent and boxer Victor Ortiz, special interviews, and exclusive content.
