Scott Evans and Andie Summers host Westwood One's Weekly Country Music Countdown, airing 6 a.m. - 12 midnight, Monday through Sunday.
Scott Evans describes himself as a combination of experience and immaturity. He celebrated his 20th year in radio, 16 years of those in country. Beginning at what is now Cat Country in Charlotte, N.C. in 1985, at the time it was K97FM (one of the first Continuous Hit Country Stations), he was asked to start getting up at 3:30 in the morning and be funny on the radio.
In 1988, after two great years in Miami, Bobby Kraig called from KPLX in Dallas. He was looking for a new morning show. The next 7 years went by very fast. The Dallas/ Ft. Worth area was at the center Country Music with over 20% of all Country records and CD's sold in that area. Evans became friends with Garth, Trisha, Clint, Allen, Travis, Randy Travis and once in a while he even got to talk to George Strait. He also did a syndicated show called The Weekly Top Thirty for Entertainment Radio, heard in over 300 markets.
In 1985 it was time to move on. Neon Nights was born with Scott as the host. The show was going well but the opportunity to do mornings in Philadelphia came up. 92.5 WXTU had an opening and it was too good to pass up. XTU reunited Scott with Bob McKay, his close friend and former boss in Miami.
Hailing from Shavertown, PA, Andie Summers absolutely loves working in radio, "my excuse to wear pj's to work," Andie's dream is to land a full time job in television. The year 2000 put her on the right track, getting some camera time on UPN's Studio 57 (Fridays and Saturdays at 8am) and nationally on TLC's The Make Over Story, where the "Girlfriends" (Andie and Amy B) were each transformed into an XTU Wild Child for the Dixie Chicks Concert.
