McNabb & Malone, Amani and Dan, and Brian Webber Will Connect Listeners with the #1 Celebrity Sports Event
NEW YORK, NY, July 11, 2014 – NBC Sports Radio, a joint venture between Westwood One and NBC Sports Group, will broadcast live from this week’s 25th Annual American Century Championship, the premiere celebrity golf tournament. The event, owned and produced by NBC Sports and sponsored by American Century Investments, features some of sports’ and entertainment’s biggest celebrities and raises funds for local and national charities.
NBC Sports Radio will broadcast two of its weekday programs live Thursday, July 17 and Friday, July 18 from Edgewood and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Under Center with McNabb & Malone (3-7 pm, ET), featuring former NFL prosDonovan McNabb and Mark Malone, and Going Deep with Amani and Dan (10 pm-1 am, ET), hosted by former NY Giant wide receiver Amani Toomer and Dan Schwartzman, will engage listeners with reports from the green and interviews with the tournament’s celebrity players. Weekend coverage will include Safety Blitz with Rodney Harrison and Dan Schwartzman and more reporting from NBC Sports Radio’s Brian Webber.
Schwartzman recently moved from overnights to Going Deep with Amani and Dan co-host. NBC Sports Radio’s Jason Page is now taking on the overnights with Up Late with Jason Page. He will also do a weekend version of his show on Saturday nights from 6-p pm ET. In addition, Scott Seidenberg will host The Scott Seidenberg Show on Saturday nights from 9 pm-1 am ET. He will also be anchoring weekday morning updates on the network. The Dave Smith Show takes over the Sunday 9 pm-1 am slot.

More than 80 celebrities are scheduled to appear and compete for a total purse of $600,000, including NBC Sports Radio host Rodney Harrison (Safety Blitz with Rodney Harrison and Dan Schwartzman) and contributor Terrell Davis, Charles Barkley, Aaron Rodgers, Steve Young, Ray Romano, John Elway, Jerome Bettis, Jerry Rice, Bill Engvall, Kevin Nealon, Dan Jansen, Mike Eruzione, and John O’Hurley.
In honor of American Century Investments Founder James Stowers Jr., an investment management innovator and philanthropist who recently passed away at the age of 90, the official national beneficiary of the 2014 tournament is the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a biomedical research organization focused on guiding the development of innovative approaches to treat, diagnose, and prevent disease. Several local charities will also benefit from the tournament proceeds. To date, American Century Investments and NBC Sports have raised more than $4 million for local and national charities through the American Century Championship.
