NEW YORK, February 6, 2017 — Cumulus Media | Westwood One proudly presents an array of special programming, exclusive brand activations, and backstage performances in celebration of the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards®, Music’s Biggest Night®. The Westwood One Backstage Live at the GRAMMYS® weekend will include live performances from Columbia Recording artist and multiple GRAMMY Award-winners Train, Republic recording artist Marian Hill, and Hollywood Records recording artist Ocean Park Standoff. All of the action takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, on Thursday, February 9th from 12-4 pm, PT and Friday, February 10th from 12-6 pm PT.
The musical performances will serve as a finale each of the two days of Westwood One’s robust Radio Row – featuring artist and celebrity interviews -- plus long and short-form programming across broadcast, digital, and social. More than 25 radio stations and Westwood One’s national Zach Sang Show and The Adam Bomb Show will be backstage to capture the action as it happens. Integrated within and enhancing the event experience will be best-in-class brands at the Westwood One Backstage Live at the GRAMMYS, including TWIX, Ninja Coffee, Marathon Energy Bars, Splenda, bmiSMart, Groupon, and Samsung.
“The number one priority for Westwood One is to deliver great content to our listeners,” said Suzanne Grimes, EVP, Corporate Marketing, Cumulus, and President, Westwood One. “Our longstanding partnership with NARAS enables Westwood One to leverage its exclusive access to the GRAMMYS, which brings the excitement to life for our listeners and allows us to create great content that they cannot find anywhere else. Our second priority is to provide our marketing partners unique opportunities to showcase their brands within relevant content and engaged audiences. Westwood One Backstage Live at the GRAMMYS® weekend delivers on both priorities and we are looking forward to the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards.”
All the excitement kicked off the weekend of February 4 when Westwood One distributed a multiple format, two-hour GRAMMY Nomination Special. The Top 40/Rhythmic, Hot AC, and AC versions were hosted by Jayde, from Todd & Jayde Mornings on WPLJ/NY. The Urban/Urban AC version was hosted by La Loca and Marc Clarke from WNBM/NY.
The 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards will air live from LA’s Staples Center on Sunday, February 12 at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT/5 pm PT on CBS. The Late Late Show star James Corden makes his debut as GRAMMYS host.
